Located in the Southwark area of London, The Hop Exchange was once the centre of London’s brewing industry. Opened in 1868, the building was designed by R. H. Moore and the building’s iron gates and carved stone scenes represent the hop harvest. During the 19th century, hops were harvested in nearby Kent and brought into the Southwark area by way of nearby London Bridge Station or the River Thames. Today, The Hop Exchange serves as a corporate hospitality and party venue for private events.
