London’s free end of summer festival, The Mayor’s Thames Festival, is now in its sixteenth year. Every September, the banks along the River Thames are transformed from Westminster Bridge to Tower Bridge and beyond with live music, dancing, art installations, river races, and food stalls. The final evening of the festival includes an illuminated Night Carnival along London’s Victoria Embankment. The Carnival features over 1,500 dancers, drummers and masqueraders, and concludes with a river-based firework spectacular against the London skyline.
