From fashion royalty Kate Moss to Royal style icon Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, over 100 million visitors per year come to shop along London’s Oxford Street. Europe’s busiest shopping street runs one and half miles from Marble Arch to Tottenham Court Road, and it is lined with several of London’s biggest flagship stores including Selfridges, Marks and Spencer, and John Lewis. The shopping thoroughfare was formally developed in 1782 by the Earl of Oxford to form a modern high street with early retailers including shoemakers and haberdashers. Today, Oxford Street’s shops represent more than 200 British fashion brands, employ over 50,000 style experts, and its 100 million shoppers represent over 200 countries spending £4.9 billion annually.
